The former Village of L'Orignal Ontario (now part of Champlain Township) is over 330 years old, the oldest settlement on the Ottawa River.
The Seigniory of L'Orignal (later renamed Seigniory of Longueuil) was granted by the Company of New France to Françoise Prévost in 1674.
Following is a Google Map showing people, places and things from the out of print book by Henry Clément.
"L'Orignal 1876-1976" celebrated the centenary of the Village's incorporation.
